Being dignified about who you are is often a good thing. Having some semblance of pride is okay, especially if you are a successful person. In our contemporary times where competition is stiff, winning against your contenders is an important matter. However, we should be careful not to let our triumphs get the best of us. We should not allow it to feed our ego and make ourselves believe that we are far better than everyone else. Because at the end of the day, whatever success we are experiencing was not something we achieved on our own. We ,made it to the top because God allowed us to win. Without God, we are nothing.
Do not forget God
While this is not applicable to all, we know for a fact that there are a lot of people who take God’s role in their triumphs for granted. These are the people who believe in themselves too much that they forget to thank God for giving them the strength to endure and the knowledge and wisdom to succeed. What happens to these people? In time, they will have to face failures in life. They will continue failing unless they recognize God’s role in their triumphs and give the glory back to God by strengthening their faith and living a life that is best suited for an ardent follower of God.
Lend a hand to others
As we practice humility, it also goes without saying that we should lend a hand to those in need. If we are better off than our neighbors who are struggling, we should do what it takes to help pull them up. God wants us to love our neighbors and to act as stewards for all his creations. Thus it is necessary to look out for one another instead of always competing with each other and aiming to be the best all the time.
Your success is not permanent
Another important lessons that God wants us to learn is that success is only temporary. The materials things that we have now, which we received due to our triumphs will not be with us forever. We cannot hold on to them for life. Accept and understand this early on so you will not get too attached to your material possessions and instead, be generous enough to share your blessings with your neighbors. A person who practices humility is always loved and blessed by God. You may experience hardships and trials but in spite of all these, you will be able to endure because your heart is good and your intentions are pure. Whereas boastful people who constantly feed their ego and belittle everyone around them will find themselves without friends and allies when God tests their faith and takes away the material possessions that they have gotten too attached to
Appreciate the little things
Whether you are a very successful person or you are still finding the right path that will lead to your success, be sure to acknowledge the small wins in your life.
Appreciate the small things and be humble about your success and remember that a grateful heart will always lead to happiness and contentment.
