When things don’t turn out the way you want them to, you feel sad and lonely. You start hating your situation and you end up blaming yourself and the people around you for putting you through such a lonely period of your life. But is that a healthy way to look at loneliness?
It may be hard to believe at first, but the truth is, God brings loneliness in our lives so we can grow and become better versions of ourselves.
Gifts from God
God blesses us with gifts everyday. He blesses us with our family so we can have people to love us unconditionally. He blesses us with friends so we can have people to spend time with and confide our problems to. He blesses us with a good job so we feel fulfilled professionally. h e blesses us with material things so weHe takes away some of the things He has already given us and this makes us feel sad, lonely, rejected, and sometimes, even desperate. What we fail To realize is that God brings loneliness in our lives because He has a plan for each and every one of us. These are some of the things God wants us to learn:
Loneliness is an eye opener.
The sad and lonely days of our lives are there for a reason. Put these reasons to food use. Being lonely is the best time to pause and reflect at what is happening around you – and how you are reacting to it. It is the best time to consider other perspectives, not just your own. It is the best time to look at the situation more objectively and to open your eyes to what is really happening and how it can help you grow as a person.
Loneliness relates to inner strength.
There are times when you feel really down and you think you will not be able to pull through. But then you take your loneliness in stride and somehow, you are still able to keep your head above water and survive the harsh realities of life. This is because loneliness helps us understand our threshold; it helps us realize how strong we are and how much we can accomplish regardless of how much the people around us may have hurt us.
Loneliness inspires personal growth.
The most mature people who walk among us are not necessarily the oldest. Sure, their experiences carry a lot of weight, but maturity is never measured by age. The mature ones are those who were able to withstand the loneliest points in their lives and have become more knowledgeable and filled with wisdom as a result.
Loneliness puts your faith to the test.
The next time you feel lonely, keep in mind that your loneliness is God’s way of putting your faith to the test. He wants to know the extent of your faith in Him. More importantly, He wants to strengthen that faith so that you can walk alongside Him and live a life with nothing but peace, love, and contentment in your heart.
