It’s no secret that challenges and difficulties in life happen to us regardless of who we are and what we have achieved in our lives. God has a way of bringing challenges in our lives to teach us important lessons about life, love, faith, and ourselves. Sometimes, we experience troubles that we think we could never overcome, only to find out later on that those troubles were merely small hurdles that were intended to make us strong.
A strong and resilient person is not someone who is unfazed by challenges in life. In fact, a resilient person may easily feel scared and even anxious about the uncertainties of the future. In spite of this, a resilient person will not allow their fear or their doubts to rule their lives. A resilient person thinks and acts differently because they don’t allow themselves to get beaten up by the negativity around them.
They are optimistic.
If you are a positive thinker, chances are you possess one of the more important qualities of a resilient person. Being optimistic is not about denying the sad possibilities that we do not want to happen. Rather, it is knowing that while some bad things may happen, they will still be able to become victorious because they believe in the power of thinking positively. They do not allow themselves to get shrouded with doubts and insecurities because these things will only exhaust them and deprive them of the will and the energy they need to be better versions of themselves.
They know how to wait.
Aside from their ability to take things in a positive light, resilient persons are also patient. They may experience some bad things in life but they wait for theser things to get better. They have faith in God’s right timing. They do not want to be impatient because they know that everything will come in God’s perfect timing. They do not rush because they are aware that rushing may lead to wrong or misinformed decisions – and they do not want that because these things will only drag them down.
They know their worth.
Like other people, resilient persons also have bad days, They have those times when they feel unsuccessful, unwanted, oded. But they are easily able to combat these feelings of being inadequate because they have a strong sense of purpose. They know their value as a person and they are clear on what they know they deserve. They know that they should be appreciated.
They look for answers.
Last but not the least, resilient people are not easily flustered when they do not have the answers, they are perfectly fine with discovering things on their own and finding out the answers to their problems. They do not demand to get answers right away as well. They are understanding because they know the strength that lies within each one of us, especially if we have a strong faith in God.
Are you a resilient person? Most of us are resilient, we just do not realize it yet. This is why God tests our character – to help us appreciate and understand our own strengths and to use it to become a better person.
